Die German Saturday School (GSS) sucht eine(n) Lehrer(in) für die 4. Klasse ab sofort.

 

Über die GSS

Die GSS ist eine ‚community‘ Schule in Clifton Hill, Melbourne, an der über 150 Jungen und Mädchen gemeinsam vom Kindergarten bis zur 12. Klasse unterrichtet werden. Der Unterricht findet samstags zwischen 9-12 Uhr vormittags innerhalb des Schuljahres statt. Die Schule wurde vor über 150 Jahren gegründet und ist seit über 10 Jahren an ihrem derzeitigen Standort in Clifton Hill. 

Wir bieten Deutsch als Fremdsprache an mit dem Ziel die deutsche Sprache strukturiert zu lernen und Kultur von den deutschsprachigen Ländern (Deutschland, Österreich, Schweiz und Lichtenstein) kennenzulernen.Der Unterricht ist auf die unterschiedlichen Deutschkenntnisse unserer Schüler abgestimmt nach schuleigenen, neu überarbeiteten Lehrplänen auf der Grundlage des australischen Curriculums F-10. 

Die GSS ist anerkannt, das Deutsche Sprachdiplom auf Stufe 1, anzubieten. Außerdem bietet die GSS das Goethe Zertifikat A1 + 2 an und ist Teil der PASCH-Initiative „Schulen: Partner der Zukunft“.

 

Wir suchen:

  • ausgebildete Deutschlehrer/In oder Personen ohne Berufsqualifikationen aber dafür mit Erfahrung im Unterrichten von Deutsch (z.B. Nachhilfe in Deutsch)

  • sehr gute schriftliche und sprachliche Ausdrucksfähigkeit

  • eine hohe soziale Kompetenz, einschließlich der Fähigkeit, konstruktiven Umgang mit Schülern, Eltern und anderen Lehrkräften aufzubauen

  • langfristige Mitarbeit

The German Saturday School is looking for a teacher for their Year 4 class, commencing immediately.

 

About the GSS

We are a community school operating from 9am to 12pm on Saturday mornings during the school year. The school has been operating for over 150 years and over a decade on the current site at the Clifton Hill Primary School.

The school offers classes for German language and DACHL (Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein) cultures and has about 160 students from kindergarten to upper high school. The GSS caters for a range of German language abilities and has recently redeveloped its curriculum based on the Victorian Curriculum F–10. 

Furthermore, the school is qualified to offer the German Language Diploma exam, Deutsches Sprachdiplom, at Level I, the Goethe Zertifikat A1 + 2 and is a member of the PASCH – Schools: Partners for the Future network.

 

What we are looking for:

  • Qualified teachers of German or professionals without teaching qualifications but with experience in teaching German language (e.g. tutoring German)

  • A high level of written and verbal communication skills in German and English

  • A high level of interpersonal skills including the capacity to develop constructive relationships with students, parents and other staff

  • Long-term commitment

The German Saturday School periodically needs qualified teachers of German, especially native German speakers, who like working with small groups of students. Professionals without teaching qualifications but with experience in teaching German language are welcome to apply. We offer competitive rates of pay, an enjoyable working environment and we support our teachers in participating in professional development. We offer pay and conditions, including leave allowances, according to the Victorian teachers award.
